Are you frustrated by your supposedly ‘live’ Instagram feed not updating on your Squarespace website? Do you post new content and notice that it’s not pulling through to your Squarespace Instagram feed?

Don’t worry you’re not alone - I’ve helped many clients with this, and although it’s easy to fix it’s one of those ‘easy when you know how’ kind of things.

If you’re thinking I don’t even have a live synced Instagram feed on my website but would love one, then don’t worry I’ve written How to connect a live Instagram feed to your Squarespace website just for you!

Ok, so what do you do if your Instagram feed is not updating on your Squarespace website? Read on for a quick and easy solution.

How to update your Instagram feed on your Squarespace website

Follow these quick and easy steps to reauthenticate your Instagram account.

1. Log into your Instagram account

By logging in before you start the process will make it easier when we get to reconnect your Instagram account.

2. Log into your Squarespace account

Leaving your Instagram account open in another tab, open a new browser window and log into Squarespace.

  1. Go to your website

  2. Select ‘Settings’ in the left-hand menu

  3. Click on 'Connected accounts' under THIRD PARTY TOOLS

3. Reauthenticate your Instagram account

If your Instagram account is listed in red it means that it needs to be 'reauthenticated', don't worry this will happen every so often and it is easy to fix with a click of a button.

Reauthorising a connected account in Squarespace
  1. Click on your Instagram account listed and you should see a window to authorise reconnecting your account

  2. If you are already logged into your Instagram account it should just reconnect and go back to your Squarespace account, where the red warning has gone and has been replaced with the wording 'pull enabled'.

  3. Select the Instagram listing again and select 'Reset Data' and this should pull your live feed and show your most up-to-date posts in any Instagram blocks on your website.

It should update pretty quickly but it may take a minute or two to re-pull the data. Go to your live website and refresh the page. Hopefully, your Instagram feed is now up-to-date. If it is hurrah! If not:

  1. Go to the page where your Instagram feed lives

  2. Select ‘Edit’ at the top of the page

  3. Scroll down to the Instagram block and select the pencil icon to edit the block

  4. Under ‘Connected Account’ that your Instagram account is selected and if not, select it from the list

  5. Hit ‘Save’ at the top of the page
